主要从事新型结构材料设计和表面工程等方面的研究。发表论文100余篇(SCI 检索40篇、EI检索80篇),获授权3项中国发明 专利。
主持国家自然科学基金3项、高等学校博士学科点专项科研基金1项,总装预研基金1项,近年来主研和参加国家自然科学基金、四川省科技攻关计划资助项目等多项国家和省部级的科研项目。目前和美国凯斯西储大学和英国伯明翰大学进行了多项学术合作。
